After coming back from our cross country trip, we were excited to get back to our community pool. In hindsight, I’m not sure why we bothered paying for the membership because we hardly got there, and that certainly didn’t make it worth the membership fee for the summer (since 3/4 of our summer was spent away from here). However, each year brings a little more independence for the boys and that gives me a little more independence too. I feel like a seasoned mom – after years of chasing children around the pool, I am now able to recline in a beach chair long enough to catch a little sun. I even packed a book in my pool bag more than once – pretty optimistic I am! And yet another perk? When the husband is able to join me as we relax in ours chairs side by side. 😉
Another day at a pool, and then a fun evening at a friends home…
And judging from this picture, things around here are right back to normal…
Gabriel and Christian were happy to enjoy another week of our church’s version of vacation bible school, Z-World.
We joined some friends as the oldest Drive-In movie theater I think on the East Coast, Shankweillers. We saw “Guardians of the Galaxy”, and it was actually a cool night outside. The little ones watched in style from the back of a pickup truck, snuggled atop an air mattress with lots of warm blankets. Our older boys set-up shop inside the back of the Suburban. The little ones couldn’t make it home awake.

We got a new addition to our Living Room furniture. First was a small leather recliner for Steve. He’d been waiting years for just the right one, and it finally came along. Then by chance, we were able to get another, the same size but with material upholstery instead of leather for me. Now Steve and I have matching chairs. Oh yeah, the cat thinks we bought it just for her. Well, at least it’s warm and toasty when I am ready to sit in it – thanks kitty!
A little tennis every now and then…
And a little craziness…
And before you know it, school has started!
Morgans birthday – he turned 15! Boy, now I really feel old!
