Just as you’re about to swipe your brow in thankfulness for making it through the summer without any major injuries (we pretty much do that at the end of every summer since Christian broke his leg back in 2011), one child reminds you that Summer doesn’t necessarily end when school begins. After many hours of American Ninja Warrior and lots of confidence since his airborne-straddle of our love seat, Christian took a leap off the play-set rock wall in our backyard and landed flat on his back instead of catching the slide, and yup – broken collarbone. That puts Christians total at 3, and our family total at 5.
And of course this took place 2 days before we were planning to leave for a trip to the Niagara River. All summer, Christian was looking forward to jumping in the river and riding the tube. Poor guy. But, trip was planned so off we went. We stayed in our camper at a relatives home (can you believe we were actually missing camper-life after our cross country trip?). Poor Christian couldn’t do much, but we did the best we could so he could at least have some of the fun that the rest of us had…
Back to home!
